These lightweight lenses also offer 100% UV (ultraviolet). Suitable for prescriptions of SPH (-8 to +4) and CYL (+/- 2).

SUPER THIN 1.6:

Standard RX. These lenses contain a high index of 1.6. These lenses are most suitable for strong RX and multifocal prescription. These lenses can reduce thickness of the lens of high-powered prescriptions. They also make the lenses lighter and more comfortable. The super thin 1.67 lenses are recommended for prescription of SPH (-8 to and up).

ULTRA THIN 1.67:

These lenses contain a high index of 1.67 and can reduce thickness of the lens of high-powered prescriptions. They also make the lenses lighter and more comfortable. Most suitable for prescriptions of: SPH (-12 and up) and CYL (+/- 2).

AS THIN AS POSSIBLE 1.74:

These lenses contain a high index of 1.74 and can reduce thickness of the lens of high-powered prescriptions.

They also make the lenses lighter and more comfortable.

Reading your prescription:

o    O.D. & O.S. tells you which eye the prescription refers to. “O.D.” is the right eye and “O.S.” is the left eye.

o    SPH: a nearsighted or farsighted “spherical error”. A “-“means that the prescription is nearsighted, A ”+” means that your prescription is farsighted. The higher the number, the stronger your prescription.

o    CYL & AXIS: these numbers describe your astigmatism. The “CYL” number shows the severity of the astigmatism. Axis indicates which way the astigmatism is oriented.

o    ADD: this number is only used for bifocals and is added to the sphere prescription to get the near vision prescription.

o    PD: is the pupil distance. If you don’t not know your P.D. than go to learn how to measure your Pupil Distance.

How to measure your Pupil Distance

Find it on your prescription, the P.D can be found toward the bottom of your prescription. PD value ranges between 50 mm to 70mm with most common being 62. If your PD contains two numbers, for example 62/60, this means the distance PD is 62 and the near PD is 60. The near PD is only required when ordering bifocals, progressives.

Measure it yourself with 2 simple steps:

Step 1: Begin by placing a millimeters ruler on your nose so that the starting point of the ruler is at your right or left eye pupil.

Step 2: You can either use a mirror or ask a friend to measure the distance between the left and right pupil. Make sure you look straight ahead (for accuracy repeat several times).

These two steps are very simple, easy and more accurate than just using an average PD. We strongly recommend obtaining your prescription from your eye doctor or local optician if you have a progressive or bifocal prescription.
